Before Endodontic Treatment
This procedure will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work. A doctor is available for consultation at all times should a problem arise after your treatment.
Please eat a full breakfast or lunch as applicable. If you are using any sedation options, please follow the instructions regarding eating/drinking that we have provided for you.
Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other conditions as recommended by your physician. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.
If you have been advised by your physician to use antibiotic pre-medication because of hip, knee, or other prosthesis, cardiology concerns, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please make sure you have advised us during your consultation appointment to assure you are taking the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If you have any questions, please call our office prior to your appointment.
For your treatment appointment, please take an anti-inflammatory, such as Ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil), Naproxen (Aleve), or Tylenol (Acetaminophen/Paracetamol) as this will help with any inflammation during the procedure. We recommend following the manufactures suggested dosage of either medication 2-3 hours before endodontic therapy
